💔 The Reality That Sparked This Mission

I recently learned that local shelters are forced to euthanize up to 10 dogs a day due to lack of space, resources, and support. That number broke my heart—and it’s not an isolated situation. Shelters all around the country are facing similar pressures. It’s a painful truth that’s hard to swallow, but it lit something inside me.

I knew I had to do more than just feel heartbroken. Volunteering, raising awareness, and donating could give me a sense of purpose—and a sliver of hope. It's a way I decided to channel my love for animals into real action. And now, you can too.

I’m happy to announce that starting in July, a portion of every pet portrait will be donated to Alaqua Animal Refuge, a no‑kill sanctuary in Freeport, FL whose mission is “Shelter. Safety. Second Chances.”

I believe that art is a vessel for love, remembrance, reflection and action. When you order a pet portrait, you’re not just capturing a beloved companion—you’re becoming part of something greater: a shared mission of compassion and care.

Alaqua isn’t just an animal shelter—it’s a sanctuary of hope and transformation. Founded in 2007 by Laurie Hood, Alaqua has blossomed into a 100-acre refuge that not only houses animals, but also heals them—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

What truly touched me is Alaqua’s belief that animals change lives. Their work goes far beyond adoption: they offer wildlife rehabilitation, community education, therapeutic programs, and even mindfulness and art classes on-site. Their mission beautifully mirrors what I hope to offer through my art: a way to connect, to feel, and to heal.

I’m currently offering custom 16 x 20 pet portraits—hand-painted in acrylic 🎨 and made to honor your furry friends. Each one is custom created with care, capturing the heart and personality of your pet on canvas.

How to Order Your Custom Pet Portrait

Ordering your one-of-a-kind pet portrait is easy - just follow these simple steps:

1. Pick Your Favorite Photo

Choose a clear, close-up photo of your pet with a focus on the face.
📸 Use natural daylight
🐾 Get eye-level with your pet
💖 Capture their personality (head tilt, soulful eyes, silly grin...)
🚫 Avoid blurry, dark, or far-away shots

2. Email Your Photo

You’re welcome to include a few options—I’ll help you pick the best one.

3. Choose Your Background Color

Each portrait features a bold, solid color background.
